You work hard to show up for others, but sometimes you forget to show up for yourself.

Emotional First Responders often find themselves tired and lacking the motivation to engage in the work they previously loved.

Let’s work together to reignite your passion while establishing ways to help others from a healthy place. Together we can explore what it means to be an emotional first responder and how to navigate your work in a way that doesn’t burn you out.

One-on-One Therapy

Working together, one-on-one means that we can deeply explore the things that may be contributing to your fatigue or burnout. We can review and process your day-to-day experiences in a confidential setting so that you can show up fully for your clients, members, or community.

Workshops

I offer customizable workshops for groups of 5 or more Emotional First Responders. Workshops are a great way to provide team training on mental health crisis intervention from a licensed therapist.

Frequently Asked Questions

+ What is an emotional first responder?

An emotional first responder is someone who frequently comes into contact with people who are struggling mentally and emotionally. Many times an emotional first responder is the first person someone opens up to about serious struggles they are experiencing in life. For example, church leaders are usually the first person church members go to when they are struggling with their mental health. As a result, church leaders are considered emotional first responders.

+ I like to help others, why do I need help?

Choosing to get help for yourself is up to you. Helping others can be a gratifying experience and it can also come with heaviness and stress. Helpers who choose to work on their own mental health not only benefit personally, but also grow in their ability to help others. When the helper is healthy mentally and emotionally, they are in a much better place to provide support to other people.

+ What does a workshop include?

Workshops are a great way to access information for your team about your roles as emotional first responders. Workshops can be interactive and include educational resources that can be utilized now and in the future. They are also great for team building as you increase your emotional awareness about how your work impacts you.
